Support process

Funding Background

  1. Increased number of foreigners and members of multicultural family with diseases and emergency diseases. Of them, one third has trouble communicating their symptoms in Korean, and since fundholding counsel precedes treatment, it is impossible to respond quickly when they are hospitalized in the emergency room (weekends and nights) and suffer from severe disease.

  2. Increased number of cases of ineligible hospitalization of patients due to current prepayment (deposit) before treatment. In case of hospitalization, patients have to pay prepayment according to sharing of the medical cost, making it a heavy burden for low-income bracket even if they are in need of emergent medical attention.

Funding

  1. Funding 100% on emergency hospitalization up to once : Severe emergency patient group relevant sicknesses (in case of sickness eligible for 206 sickness code, a patient shall be 100% funded on emergency hospitalization up to once; sickness prescribed by professional medical personnel that the patient needs hospital treatment)

  2. Funding rate adjustment after reevaluation through welfare state counsel afterwards
